I have decided to do a 21 day sugar detox because I’m pretty sure I’m addicted to it. I eat some type of candy or sugary snack everyday. It’s pretty shameful considering I study health and fitness. If you have been reading my blog you know that I’ve been complaining about my skin and acne as well. I know that there is a book out there about this but I haven’t had a chance to read it so I’m kind of winging this based off of what I know already. I decided to make it 21 days because if you do something for 21 days it becomes a habit. Not only will I stop consuming sugar but I will be eating healthy during this detox. My goal once I have my baby is to get into the best shape I have ever been in. The first step is eating right and there is no reason for me not to start that part now.
A Few Reasons Sugar Is Bad For You
- Sugar causes blood glucose to spike and plummet.
- Sugar interferes with immune function.
- A high sugar diet often results in vitamin deficiencies
- Sugar increases stress
- Sugar is empty calories
My plan for the next 21 days
I will allow myself to eat naturally occurring sugar in fruits and that is all.
I will drink at least 64 oz of water daily
I will get 10,000 steps in daily
I will also keep a log of my food intake. This will keep me accountable because I will hate having to admit to myself I failed by writing down an unhealthy food.
I will keep you all posted on my progress weekly to include what I eat. I hope not to give in to temptation but if I do I will let you know. Wish me luck guys.
